Job Description: Inventory Management Executive
Position Summary
The Inventory Management Executive is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations. This role ensures accuracy in stock records, coordinates with procurement and warehouse teams, and maintains smooth flow of materials and finished goods.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control & Monitoring
Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, finished goods, consumables, and spare parts.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock reconciliations.
Track slow-moving, fast-moving, and obsolete inventory items.
Ensure stock levels are maintained as per minimum/maximum thresholds.
Stock Movement & Documentation
Record all stock in/out transactions in ERP/WMS systems.
Prepare and verify Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Goods Issue Notes (GIN), and stock adjustment reports.
Ensure proper documentation for inventory transfers between departments or locations.
Warehouse Coordination
Work with warehouse and stores teams to ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of materials.
Support cycle counts, physical stock audits, and year-end inventory activities.
Ensure adherence to FIFO/FEFO and other inventory protocols.
Demand Planning & Replenishment
Collaborate with procurement and production teams to forecast material requirements.
Raise material requisition requests based on consumption patterns.
Monitor safety stock levels and recommend replenishment actions.
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze inventory trends, variances, and consumption patterns.
Prepare periodic inventory reports for management.
Identify potential risks like stockouts, excess inventory, or discrepancies.
Compliance & Process Improvement
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
Suggest improvements in inventory processes and efficiency.
Implement best practices for inventory control and optimization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or related field.
1–3 years experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, Zoho, etc.).
Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and high accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, retail, pharma, or logistics.
Certification in inventory management or supply chain (APICS, CIPS, etc.).
Knowledge of lean inventory practices, ABC analysis, and cycle counting.
