Job Description
The MHE Driver is responsible for operating material handling equipment, specifically a reach truck, to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience operating a reach truck with a 9-meter height and 1-ton capacity. In addition to their core duties, the MHE Driver will assist with picking and packing orders during downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a reach truck with a 9-meter height and 1-ton capacity to move, stack, and retrieve goods.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, storage racks, and other storage areas within the warehouse.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of products to prevent damage.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance to ensure the reach truck is in good working condition.
- Ensure the battery water levels of MHE is checked and refill the water as per requirements.
- Assist with order picking and packing during periods of low equipment activity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or inventory discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a reach truck with a 9-meter height and 1-ton capacity.
- Valid MHE or forklift operator certification/license
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
Experience
- Proven experience in safely operating reach trucks or other MHE in a warehouse environment.
- Experience in order picking, packing, and general warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and safety procedures.
